Abstract

This paper is written to investigate the effect of springback in a material by utilizing virtual manufacturing mould design which is then verified experimentally. All of the detail parameterse important in order to concern springback in sheet metal forming. The right- hand rear arm is designed by using the CATIA V5R21 software and VISI 2018 R1 to create the upper die and lower die. The upper die and lower die are used for conducting a metal forming process which is stamping simulation by using the Simufact.Forming 12 software. The mould is then tested to create the rear arm parts with the aid of Simufact.Forming 12. The comparison of data obtained between the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and the experimental is taken to prove the accuracy in sheet metal forming and provides a method to control and compensate the springback effect in the material.
